Thank you for visiting this page.
We have set this page up because we are facing a serious squeeze in our funding.
In 2019-20 we have had to cut £300,000 from our budgets, because of increases in costs and a reduction in our funding.
Next year, we will be funded at the minimum level for a school in England (£3,750 per child per year). This means that in our budget for 2020-21 we will have £217,000 less than the average school in the country.
This is why we need your help.
There are many ways in which you can make donations, including:
- Second-hand uniform.
- Cakes for sale.
- Your time.
We appreciate all of these. However, some parents and grandparents are keen to make financial donations to help us while our budgets are so tight.
We plan to distribute the money donated between four key areas:
- £600 per half term to provide weekly music or art therapy sessions for an individual or group.
- £600 per half term to provide a weekly intervention for groups of children.
- Premier sports coaches and play leaders at lunchtime £30 per hour.
- £2,000 for an interactive television.
The two PSFAs, which are registered charities, have signed the schools up to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and Benevity, which can handle donations and pass the money on, with Gift Aid, to the schools.
CAF is a charity which accepts donations on our behalf and then passes on the gift aid without us needing to do a lot of administration to secure the additional funding.
Benevity is a site which businesses can use to give donations to charities chosen but their employees. We know several local businesses use this site and have received several donations already where parents have nominated one of the schools to receive their gift.
You can visit this website for regular updates on how the fundraising is going. For more information about the how we are managing our donations, please see the letter below from our Chairs of Governors, Sean Lang and Will Davidson.
Thank you for anything you can give –whether they are large or small, in money or in time, all donations make a difference and all donations are very greatly appreciated.
