Welcome to the Queen Emma Nursery. The nursery, with its Cubs Room for children who are two and the Foxes Room for three year olds, opened in our newly built school in 2013. The Nursery is part of the Queens’ Federation which comprises both Queen Edith and Queen Emma Primary schools. Together they are led by one governing body and one leadership team. The sharing of expertise, resources and the economy of scale are all benefits of being federated schools.
Our nursery staff include, Mrs Natasha Lloyd, who is a qualified teacher and runs the nursery along with Mrs Natalie Symonds, while supported by our Nursery Administrator and many nursery assistants.
In addition, to providing 15 hour and 30 hour packages of free provision for all eligible three year olds, and offering 12 places to children entitled to the free places for two year olds, we can offer children additional flexible hours from 7.45 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. during term time. We also run a Holiday Club for children from two years old to the end of Year 2, which is staffed by our well qualified and experienced nursery assistants.
As many of you will be aware HMI, Susan Aykin, visited both our schools last year to complete our Ofsted inspection. As a record of her visit she has written a letter about our school, see “Latest Ofsted Report”. Staff and governors were delighted with her feedback and pleased that in such short visits so many of the schools’ strengths have been recognised.
We will be ensuring we continue to work on the areas suggested in the reports while also maintaining our commitment to seeing every child thrive through the provision of a rich curriculum and excellent pastoral support.
If you are considering a Nursery for your child we hope we will have the opportunity to meet you in the near future and that if your child is joining us, you will have a very happy association with the Nursery.
