Learn 2 Live Well

We have secure funding which has granted us nearly £10,000 to invest in resources that promote healthy and active lifestyles within our school community.

With this grant, we have taken on several initiatives to enrich our children's learning experiences. Firstly, we have acquired new Design and Technology equipment, so we now have full class sets of cooking equipment. In addition, we have set aside a budget for each class to purchase ingredients for cooking sessions. These sessions will provide our children with practical skills and help them understand the value of nutrition and a balanced diet.

Our school's allotment is also set to expand, featuring a wider variety of fruit bushes and root vegetables. This development aims to enhance our students' knowledge of where their food comes from and instil a respect for nature's processes. By engaging with the allotment hands-on, children will witness the journey from seed to table.

We are also recruiting Year 5 sports leaders. These enthusiastic leaders will guide games and physical activities during lunchtimes, encouraging their peers to stay active while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Across the school the children have been taking part in a range of activities to encourage them to make healthy choices during Healthy You Week.

Here you can see Seahorse, Polar Bear,  Kestrel, Giraffe and Zebra Class taking part in a short burst of exercise. Falcon Class making sure they are staying hydrated and Toucan Class enjoying a healthy snack together.
