Adverts

Year 4 have been looking at persuasive adverts this term in English. They started off with a ‘Hook’ taking part in a Dragon’s Den type activity where they had to design and ‘ sell’ a product to the Dragons! The children really enjoyed this activity and were very persuasive!
They have then been identifying the features of a persuasive advert and thinking about how to use these features in their own adverts for a Roman House.

Year 4

A Love of Reading

This term we have enjoyed delving into books such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, David Williams’ series and Harry Potter. We enjoy reading striving to read regularly at both home and school.

Year 4

Roman Villas

We have employed our research skills, enjoying researching many aspects of Roman Britain, including learning about the structure of a roman villa and what each room was used for.

Year 4

Making Shields

Things got a little messy when we were making the shields. However, we had loads of fun creating, painting and constructing our shields. We persevered even when challenges arose and worked together to solve different problems. We shared our resources and materials. We are looking forward to testing our shields out by completing different shield formations.

Year 4

Roman Britain

As part of our History and Design and Technology units we have been designing and creating Roman Shields. To begin the process we researched about Roman Shields. We then designed our own shields, taking into consideration, shape, colours and design features.
